Economic Development Authority

The New York Mills Economic Development Authority was established in 1994.  The purpose and intent of the NYM EDA is to preserve and create jobs in the city, enhance its tax base and promote the general welfare of the citizens of New York Mills.  Current board members include:

The New York Mills EDA feels very strongly that establishing new business, as well as helping to preserve existing business entities in the community, is crucial to the city's success and livelihood.  If you are thinking of beginning a new business, consider New York Mills.  The City has many incentives and avenues through which you may obtain assistance for your new venture.  These include Tax Increment Financing Districts, Economic Development Authority loans, and Community Fund and West Central Initiative assistance.  For information on any of these avenues,  contact City Clerk Julie Roberts at cityclerk@cityofnewyorkmills.org or at the following:

Up to $5,000 in matching grants for Small Businesses in NYM To be used for eligible building and renovation projects. Applications are due by the 1st of each month for review until funds are exhausted. Grant guidelines and applications are available under this section.

EDA REVOLVING LOAN FUND APPLICATION PACKET

The intent of the New York Mills Economic Development Authority is to assist in bringing business into the community as well as to help existing businesses prosper.  If you are a member of the City of New York Mills'  community and are either looking to start up a new business, expand or update your current business, you may be eligible for gap financing with the New York Mills EDA through their Revolving Loan Fund.  Funds can be used to acquisition and/or improvement of land, buildings or equipment, new construction or renovation of existing buildings, demolition or site preparation, equipment purchases, or consolidation of debts along with an expansion proposal.
