The New York Mills Economic Development Authority was established in 1994. The purpose and intent of the NYM EDA is to preserve and create jobs in the city, enhance its tax base and promote the general welfare of the citizens of New York Mills. Current board members include:

The New York Mills EDA feels very strongly that establishing new business, as well as helping to preserve existing business entities in the community, is crucial to the city's success and livelihood. If you are thinking of beginning a new business, consider New York Mills. The City has many incentives and avenues through which you may obtain assistance for your new venture. These include Tax Increment Financing Districts, Economic Development Authority loans, and Community Fund and West Central Initiative assistance.
